Immigration Project
The VOLS Immigration Project offers support for immigrant students and young adults to help them pursue higher education, employment, and permanent residency so that they can pursue their dreams and advocate for themselves, their families, and the community. The Immigration Project is a leader in building trusted relationships with educators and staff at public schools by providing ongoing training to identify and address immigration-related legal issues. The Project also works with community-based organizations, helping their constituents understand and resolve their immigration issues. One of the Immigration Project’s primary goals is to deepen relations with our community partners through presentations, “know your rights” trainings, and on-site clinics.
With the generous assistance of pro bono attorneys from New York City law firms, VOLS is able to leverage the work of its small legal department and provide aid to clients seeking DACA, asylum, Special Immigrant Juvenile status, and assistance with other immigration matters, protecting their rights to remain in the United States and pursue their own “American dreams.”
